Some Authentication technologies I know about
NTML This protocol authenticates clients on network that use windows operating system and on stand alone systems etc
Kerberos This protocol provides authentication using Kerberos protocol instead of plain text, NTLM,or digest method.
Windows Digest Challenge-and-response protocol that provides increased security over basic authentication.
Secure Channel The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) authentication protocol. This protocol provides authentication over an encrypted channel instead of a less-secure clear channel.
If there are other Authentication Technologies leaving Bio metric aside Used in Windows 8.1 Please provide a bit detail and when we authenticate a network share I assume we are using NTML Authentication,Is the authentication hash stored on windows so when we re access the share we don't have to authenticate where is the hash stored ? Can we Use Secure Channel Authentication to authenticate the Network Share ,is it Possible ?
