I was trying out a whatsapp compatible chat application on my laptop. Someone sent me a picture and I received a link to that picture on the whatsapp server. Everyone who visits the link can see the picture. I was shocked when I found that out.
The URL of the image was something like (fictional example):
The chance that anyone guesses such a long URL by chance is of course really small. However, are there other (smart) ways to easily search through these kind of URLs? How hard would it be to brute force search through possible URLs?
