Encrypt datas navigating through encrypted connection

If datas are transiting with a SSL-encrypted connection, is it required to re-encrypt theses datas ? ie, is it mandatory/useful/worth it to AES/RSA (for example) encrypt datas that will be re-encrypted with SSL ?
