SQL Injection - Don't follow redirect?

There are certain sites that have a Redirect once they detect malicious behaviour. Once you try to find a hole (assuming the service is vulnerable), everytime you try to submit a link with malicious code, it redirects you to the homepage.

I've loaded up sqlmap and it's able to bypass it, it asks if "I want to follow the redirect or not". Could somebody shed some light on this and what causes it and how do I manually bypasss it?

It runs some old PHP version with the Suoshin Patch.

For disclosure: Testing this on a friend's site that he setup some years ago. The hole still exists, it just redirects me to the homepage.
