can a destroyed sim card be traced through internet modem?

If I hack something on online, can the government trace me? If I buy a unauthorized sim card (sim card company will not have any document about me) and use it in my internet modem, after doing my work, I destroy the sim card, then how will ISP trace me through destroyed sim card? Because they will not have any document who buys it, can a destroyed sim card be traced by modem? Should I just destroy the sim card or sim card and modem both? I was thinking to use different sim cards for different hacks. What will happen then? Can my ISP know from where the sim used by tracking my modem?
