Certification Advice for an Academic

I have a PhD and some research the past several years in information security. The past four or so years I have also been working in a primarily administrative IT role at a University that involved some policy-making and security governance while teaching miscellaneous computer science courses Software Engineering, Networking, etc.

I am now looking to solidify my qualifications for moving into industry or consulting.

Would such a background meet the experience requirements for the CISSP and/or CISA (4/3 years of full-time experience with the waiver for education)?
