Assuming somebody found a way to fast-factor, can anybody think of a use for it apart from code breaking?

I'm just curious. Given that GCHQ apparently came up with RSA in the 70s, I was wondering that if they or a similar institution had also solved the fast factoring problem whether they would keep it classified or publish it.
