Is there a way to Speed-up BruteForce with Hydra on Kali-linux?

I'm testing many bruteforce options for the past few months , but only one thing can't let me rest quietly.

The speed ! i mean when i use hydra bruteforce , the speed is kinda ok , but after i was reading about other people speed and how fast they crack passwords , this is just wierd.

I tried to max-up the graphic settings on the virtual machine for the kali-linux , but the speed didn't change... the only thing i found to speed alittle bit the BF is -t 128 .

is there any other way to speed up the brute force attack ? for example , if it takes me 10 seconds do to 100 passwords , is it possible to make it try for example , uhmm .. 500 passwords at 10 seconds instead? is it even possible to triple it or even higher to 3000 for example? thanks :)
