Win 8.1 What security software is suggesteed?

I use windows defender should I switch to Mcafee or symantec? How about malware bytes and or anti-spyware package?

I feel like there is much more protection that I can have. Mainly I dont have any problems and avoid many trouble sites. I also have education on information security but I just don't keep up with all the security software. I was running symantec for years but after my last rebuild I started using windows defender. I think that is not enough.

Before I purchase something else I want to know that it is not talking to other countries. I will run wireshark now and then so if I find that it sends my information I will be not so happy.
