My background:
Normally I am a Linux user and I am using Palemoon as my primary internet browser there. Previous to that I was a sworn Firefox Nightly user but since Microsoft has intervened and Mozilla decided to ruin Firefox by introducing Australis. Somehow I survived it when I switched to Palemoon, which still sports the old good Firefox look with somewhat optimized performance. Chrome was never an option for me since it's basically built for Google to spy on you.
My question is:
Now I am unfortunately "forced" to use a an Apple MacBook Pro with MacOSX. Palemoon is not available for MacOSX. I've tried Komodo's browsers (Komodo Dragon and Komodo Ice Dragon) but they are for Windows only. And no, Tor is not an option for me too.
Can somebody suggest me some secure and customizable browser, based either on Chromium or Firefox or something else? What is important for the browser SHOULD NOT connect to any external servers without my permission and leak any unneeded data. Tor Browser is not a solution for because it uses only the Tor network (and recently the security of Tor has been subject to a controversy).
Thank you in advance.
EDIT:
Thank you for putting a hope for secure browsing under Mac on hold. I am looking forward for this question to be deleted soon now.
Otherwise:
Currently according my research any browser based on Chromium architecure by default sends requests to Google (be it update extensions, update malware site URLS, but YOUR COMPUTER STILL CONNECTS TO GOOGLE AND YOUR IP IS RECORDED BY GOOGLE, which is a major security concern for me.).
